Provider vetting and listing standards
Referrers carry professional liability for every placement they make. These are the checks we run, in plain terms, so you can judge what our verification is worth.
Before a listing goes live
- We confirm the provider is a real trading entity and record the company number and trading name shown on the listing.
- Where the provider is a Registered Provider of social housing, we record the regulator number and show it.
- Where the service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, we record the provider identifier and the current rating.
- Accommodation for 16 and 17 year olds must be registered with Ofsted. We record the URN and the latest inspection outcome, and we do not publish that provision without a verified registration number. Operating unregistered is a criminal offence and a referrer cannot lawfully place into it.
- We record supported housing licence status ready for the licensing regime expected to follow the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023.
- Every room shows when its availability was last confirmed. If a provider stops confirming, the room drops out of search.
What we do not claim
We are a listings and matching service, not a regulator and not a commissioner. We do not inspect buildings, assess support quality, or verify anything a provider tells us beyond the registration records named above. Verify the placement against your own duties before you make it.
What gets a provider removed
- Listing 16 and 17 provision without a valid Ofsted registration.
- A registration, rating or company record that turns out to be false.
- Repeatedly advertising rooms that are not actually available.
- Refusing applicants on the basis that they receive benefits.
- A safeguarding concern we cannot resolve with the provider and the local authority.
Report a safeguarding concern
If someone is at immediate risk, call 999. Otherwise contact the local authority adult or children's safeguarding team, and tell us at safeguarding@roomfy.co.uk so we can suspend the listing while it is looked at.
