Referral route for prison leavers

Statutory basis
Probation and resettlement referral
Who refers
Probation / prison resettlement team
How the referral works
The prison offender manager or community offender manager refers, usually before release. The release address must be approved by probation before the licence is issued, so referrals need lead time.
Eligibility
Referrals are accepted where a release address is needed and the provider can meet the risk level set out in the probation assessment. Some rooms exclude specific offence types, and every listing states its own exclusions.
